Shakira engages Chicago’s Kalapriya Dance for MTV Video Awards.
On Saturday evening (August 26th) International Pop Star Shakira attended the dance concert of Chicago classical Indian dance company Kalapriya Dance at the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium of the Harold Washington Library Center. She was so impressed with the company that post-performance she met with Artistic Director, Pranita Jain. She hired Jain and company on the spot to work with her on her upcoming MTV Video Awards presentation set to air on Thursday, August 31st. Rehearsals began in Toronto, Canada on Monday (August 28). Pranita Jain and 4 dancers were then flown to New York to continue production. Two dancers Aravinda Tota and Kriti Marwaha were featured along with Shakira at the opening of her MTV Video Awards presentation of her hit “Hips Don’t Lie.”

Shakira will also perform at the award show and this time Hips Don't Lie will possibly have a bit of a Bollywood touch. She has contacted famous Indian choreographer and dancer Farah Khan to help her out with the dance moves.
Farah said: "When the show producers called and asked me if I knew Shakira, I told them our whole country was obsessed with her! I think Shakira is one of the best dancers in the world right now and is undoubtedly the hottest thing"

Shakira also invited Chicago's classical Indian dance company Kalapriya Dance and artistic director Pranita Jain to help with her MTV Video Music Awards presentation.
