Dr. Rajmohan Gandhi presents his book Modern South India in a discussion with journalist and Scholar Dr.Gowri Ramnarayan and journalist Mr. Adam Roberts. The book covers the 400-year history of South India- from the 17th century to the present. Being the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari and a historian, he has also written the definite biographies of both freedom fighters. This book is an account of the 4 dominant cultures of South India- Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu but also how other cultures like Tulu, Marathi, Konkani, Oriya, and others have influenced them. It describes the journey of South India under different ruling powers pre-independence through post-independence.
